
Procurement Officer Sourcing
A position of Procurement Officer – Sourcing (12 months fixed term contract) has become available in the Supply Chain Department based in Hammarsdale, reporting to the Strategic Sourcing Manager.
Qualification:
Diploma in Purchasing and Supply Management
Experience:
5 years working experience in purchasing of which 1 – 2 years must be in chemical manufacturing,
SAP experience is essential.
Experience with ERP systems (BaaN, SAP or similar ERP system experience).
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Supplier Relationship Management – Developing, managing and maintaining a positive supplier relationship
Total Cost Management – Effectively reviewing and assessing the value propositions to ensure optimal return
Procurement Planning – Ensuring effective alignment between Purchasing and Planning to meet customer requirements
Continuous Improvement and Project Management – Participation in Continuous Improvement and Projects for the department
SHERQ management – Maintaining and improving SHEQ performance within the department
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of Strategic Sourcing and Purchasing Principles, Supply Chain fundamentals, understanding of inventory costing methodology and procedures, knowledge of relevant legislation and ERP systems and capabilities. They must be resourceful, able to handle pressure, an assertive problem solver with decision making abilities and a team member who is self-motivated. They must have good business acumen and be able to communicate at all levels, be organized and self disciplined.
